Brian Castle graduated from Princeton as a
computational neuroscientist in 1986.
Prior to that he spent time at UCSD, Scripps, and the Salk Institute, working in the labs and learning from giants like
Ted Bullock, Floyd Bloom, Francis Crick, Robert Livingston, Ian Creese, Carl Olson, Robert Galambos, and a host of others.
After spending time in the finance and
biomedical industries, Brian pursued a
spectacular career in computer engineering.
His work products are in weather satellites, on
the Space Shuttle
and inside people ("implantable medical devices").
In the early 2000's Brian took time off to
care for an aging family member,
and when he returned
to his career
the world
had changed.
"Learn to code"
became "learn AI". And, Brian was doing
neural networks
long before they were a thing.
Now Brian is back into computational neuroscience full time, and is
pursuing an ambitious research program.
Some of Brian's projects include BCI for volitional motor mapping and multi-physical finite element modeling
of neural networks and their components.
Brian completes research projects end to end, including any needed
hardware and software design and development,
requirements
based testing and field validation, and commercialization when applicable.
